| Mildred Miller Fort Foundation Visiting Scholar in European Studies | ||
| Dr. Mayya Soboleva Dr. Mayya Soboleva is this year's Fort Visiting Scholar in European Studies from Phillips Universitat. Her areas of expertise include epistemology, philosophy of language, and Russian and German philosophy. Her first doctorate was from Leningrad Institute of Technology in Chemistry. Her Doctorate of Philosophy and Doctororate of Hanil, both in Philosophy are both from St. Petersburg State University. |

| Dr. Gary Shouppe Temporary Associate Professor, Counseling and Educational Leadership and Professional Studies Dr. Gary Shouppe has been named Temporary Associate Professor of Educational Leadership in the Department of Counseling, Educational Leadership, and Professional Studies. Dr. Shouppe received his B.S.Ed. at Columbus State University. He also received his M.Ed. and Specialist degrees in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University. He received his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Valdosta State University. Dr. Shouppe has been an Adjunct Professor at Columbus State University since 2006. He has served as principal at Brewer Elementary, Dimon Elementary, Blackmon Road Middle School, and most recently, Veterans Memorial Middle School. |

| Dr. Evelyn Blalock Temporary Assistant Professor, Department of Teacher Education Dr. Evelyn Blalock comes to CSU as Temporary Assistant Professor in the Department of Teacher Education. Dr. Blalock received her B.A. degree in Psychology and Child Development from the University of California - Davis and her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Special Education at the University of New Mexico. She has worked with the New Mexico Leadership Development Project as the Regional Coordinator of statewide training for two New Mexico school districts. She also served as a Clinical Supervisor and instructor at the University of Mexico. |

He has taught at the University of Mexico for the past 7 years. |

Ms. Little received her B.S.Ed. and M.Ed. degrees in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University and is currently working toward her Ph.D. She has served as the Summer Enrichment Program Director at Auburn University as well as an Instructional Technology Coach at Ogletree Elementary School in Auburn. |

Dr. Fittipaldi-Wert received her B.S. degree in Health and Physical Education from West Chester University, her M.S. degree in Adapted Physical Education from SUNY Brockport, and her Ph.D. in Kinesiology from Auburn University. |

| Dr. Kevin Burgess Assistant Professor, Department of Biology Dr. Kevin Burgess assumed a position as an Assistant Professor of Biology this past (spring) semester. Prior to his appointment at CSU, Dr. Burgess was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Biology at the University of Virginia who received his M.S. and Ph.D. from the Botany Department at the University of Guelph. Dr. Burgess’ area of expertise is plant genetics and ecology. |

| Mr. Quent Lupton Temporary Instructor, Department of Biology Mr. Quent Lupton will be assuming a position as a Full-time Temporary Instructor in the Department of Biology this semester. Mr. Lupton received his M.S. in biology from Towson University. His professional interests are focused on the biology of amphibians and reptiles. Prior to his arrival at CSU, Mr. Lupton was employed as a life sciences teacher at a college preparatory high school in Auburn, Alabama. |

| Dr. Samuel Abegaz Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry and Geology Dr. Samuel Abegaz has been appointed Assistant Professor of chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Geology. Dr. Abegaz received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Analytical Environmental Chemistry from Ghent University in Belgium. His research interests are the characterization of atmospheric pollutants and bio-fuels. Dr. Abegaz has taught at the University of the District of Columbia and Howard University. He will teach Environmental Chemistry and the introductory chemistry courses for science majors. Dr. Abegaz comes to us from Howard University where he occupied a Post-doctoral position at the NOAA Center for Atmospheric Sciences at Howard University. |

| Dr. Yousef Ahmadibeni Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry and Geology Dr. Yousef Ahmadibeni has been appointed Assistant Professor of chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Geology. Dr. Ahmadibeni received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Justus-Liebig, Giessen, Germany and Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran. His research interest involves the study of "Calaxarens as the Building Blocks of Supramolcules". Dr. Ahmadibeni has held teaching positions in organic chemistry at Shahed University in Tehran, Iran and at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran. He will teach organic chemistry, as well as, the introductory chemistry courses for non-science majors. Dr. Ahmadibeni comes to us from the University of Rhode Island where he occupied a Post-doctoral position in the Department of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Rhode Island. |

| Dr. John Winfrey Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry and Geology Dr. John Winfrey has been appointed as a temporary teaching fellow and Assistant Professor of Physics in the Department of Chemistry and Geology. Dr. Winfrey received his MS and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California San Diego, CA. He has extensive experience teaching physics, astronomy, and physical science. Additionally, Dr. Winfrey has worked with various interactive learning methods and other directives to improve student learning in physics. Dr. Winfrey has held teaching positions at the Texas A&M International University, Laredo, TX, the University of Wyoming, Laramie, WY, College of Dupage, Glen Ellyn, IL, Southwestern Michigan College, Dowagiac, MI and South Texas College, McAllen, TX. He will teach the physics classes for science majors, as well as, other physical science classes for non-science majors. Dr. Winfrey comes to us from South Texas College where he taught physical science and coordinated the regional science fair. |

| Mr. Philip Anderson Senior Lecturer, Department of Computer Science Mr. Philip Anderson is a Senior Lecturer in Computing and Program Leader of the B.Sc. (Honors) program in Computer Forensics in the School of Computing, Engineering, and Information Sciences at the University of Northumbria in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Mr. Anderson teaches courses such as Computer Forensic Applications, Legal and Evidentiary Aspects of Computer Forensics, and Advanced Computer Forensics. |

| Mrs. Cathy Franklin Temporary Instructor, Department of Mathematics Mrs. Cathy Franklin has been appointed as a Temporary Instructor in the Department of Mathematics. Mrs. Franklin received two master's degrees from Valdosta State University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida; she also has conducted further study at Rutgers University. She has taught at Columbus High School, Jordan High School, Fayette County High School, East Columbus Magnet Academy, and more. Last year she worked on an America's Choice grant with the Department of Education and the American research Institute. |

He has full time teaching experience at Tennessee Wesleyan College, the University of Alaska Southeast, Western Carolina University, and Lee County Public Schools. |

| Mimi Merriman Assistant Professor, Department of Nursing Mimi Merriman has been appointed Assistant Professor of Nursing. She has received her bachelor of science in nursing from CSU in June 1992. She then received her masters of science in nursing from Troy University in March 1997. She has been working as a part-time clinical instructor for the CSU nursing department since January of 2006. Her area of special interest within discipline or profession is medical/surgical nursing and critical care nursing. |

| Thomas W. Ganzevoort Instructor, Library Thomas W. Ganzevoort has been appointed Instructor of Library Science at CSU Libraries. He serves as Instruction Librarian. Tom received his Master of Library and Information Science in December 2007 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Prior to the pursuit of his library degree, he worked for twelve years as a bookseller. |

| Linda T. Jones Instructor , Library Linda T. Jones joined the faculty of CSU Libraries as Instructor of Library Science in January 2008. Linda serves as Head of Cataloging and Periodicals. She received an M.A. in Library Science from the University of South Florida in December 2007 and her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Georgia College and State University. She also earned an M.S. in Educational Media from Nova University. Linda formerly served as Technical Services Librarian at Griffin Technical College. |
